I did not find any new information about creating formulas and other maths in Arbortext Editor.
How is MathML supported in Arbortext Editor 7.1.?
Is the Mathflow add-on still needed? And how is it installed?

Yes Design Science MathFlow is the plugin you need for MathML support in Arbortext: https://www.dessci.com/en/products/mathflow/mf_for_arbortext.htm
