PI in a ph element, does it need to be styled in styler?

If you use a PI in an ph element does it need to be styled? If so, can someone steer me in the right direction. I have that senario currently and it is not doing what I want it to do.

According to the help guide Styler does not support the styling of Arbortext processing instructions.
