Problems entering german characters

Dear Adepters,

I'm using Adept Editor 5.2, a German keyboard and a Unicode XML instance. I'm not able to enter German characters like u-umlaut (ü) via keyboard. Copying or inserting via dialog works fine. Is there somethin obvious I'm missing?

It's not really true, that I have to declare character entities for my special characters (iso-lat1)???

Please tell me, that there is a better solution!
