Except under some pretty rare circumstances, Editor itself does not take
advantage of dual cores. Because a dual core machine can update the main
Windows screen at the same time that Editor is running a core, users may
find a dual core machine useful if they have other applications running.
But Editor itself is pretty single threaded.

Will Publishing Engine benefit from servers with dual core processors?

Yes, Publishing Engine benefits from multiple cores. It scales very well
across multiple cores and multiple sockets.

It does not benefit from Hyperthreading, so if you are using Intel
processors with this feature, we recommend turning it off. The impact of
having Hyperthreading on is a small but noticeable drop in total
throughput.
