Thanks for your query. I am the chair of the NY user group, so feel free to direct questions to me any time.
The SGML Forum of New York is the NY area users group. We hold quarterly meetings, usually on a Tuesday afternoon and usually at the McGraw-Hill building conference center at 49th Street and 6th Avenue in New York City. We also have a technical special interest group called NYTAG that meets from time to time to work on specific technical projects.
Meetings are typically focused on some topic. Our recent meeting was about making Web sites more accessible for the visually impaired. We are planning meetings for later this year on XML/EDI, XML Help systems and we are working on an all-day conference in conjunction with OASIS (formerly SGML Open) for this summer.
I'm forwarding your message to Howard Shatz at Data Conversion Laboratory so that he can add it to our email distribution list. Anyone else who would like to be added to our list can send a message directly to Howard at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to get in touch with me.
