Save without the Processing Instructions

Besides entering on the Command Line "SAVE -NOPI" how does one configure EPIC
4.4 to save without the Processing Instructions?

Use set writepi=off in a pubrc or doctype.acl file. Enter "Help 1587"
on the Epic command line for more information.

I believe it is also in the preferences file.

Norma is correct, check help 1587-1 for a couple of caveats (i.e., write
and save_as).

If you always want them to be removed, you can set it in preferences under save.

Jim,

I think this was posted once for 4.3. I haven't worked it into 4.4 yet, but am trying.

Here is an acl approach:

file: epicinit.acl
if (!menu_exists (".Specials")) {
menu_add -menu .File ".Specials"
menu_add ".Specials." "Save && strip out processing instructions" -cmd {save_nopi();}
}
source logic.cmd

file: epic_load_path/custom/script/logic.cmd

function save_nopi()
{
$choice=response("Do you really want to remove ALL PI's","Remove PIs","Remove PIs and Exit","Cancel");
switch(choice){
case 1:
response("Removing all PI's and saving document")
save -nopi
break
case 2:
response("Removing all PI's, saving document, and exiting")
save -nopi
edit -current -untagged
find -q -e /

Duh, Didn't realize it was so easy. Thanks!
