We would like to be able to navigate the Publication Structure from inside Arbortext CMS Browser

Hi

We would like the possibility to navigate the Publication Structure from withing the Arbortext CMS Browser.

Currently Authors are required to start both Arbortext Editor and Internet Explorer. They [authors] navigate the Publication Structure to find requested objects.

After selecting the object that is of interest they [authors] right click and select "Open in Arbortext".

In the future, the Authors would like to navigate the same structure from within Arbortext CMS Browser. They would like to be able to find the objects of interest and chose to edit the specific object. All of this done from within Arbortext Editor, without the need to launch Windchill UI (Internet Explorer).

This functionality exists within Arbortext editor.

You need to have userprefs.xml and siteprefs.xm configured for your system. There is a template for this and the files are stored in (programs)\Arbortext editor\adapters\com.ptc.prowt.Arbortext.

When you open up Arbortext you should have an Object tab located next to the tools tab. When you click on this tab it will open up a sign in sheet. When you are logged into Arbortext you can open up folders, do a search, and browse the hierarchy just like you would using the IE interface.

Hi Ray

What you are describing is the possibility to navigate the Workspace and also Product and Library contexts. We can also search from the Browse view.

This case is considering the viewing of the Publication Structure. This is currently not possible. We are however able to view the Information Structure, but this is not fit our purpose.
