My emediate reaction is that the "automatically generate" phrase only carry that far. You still have to organize data in the correct way for the "automatic" process to occure. Period. This organization is very much different from the straight forward construction work done in a group environment. When it comes to collecting the data and assemble it for visualisation, you are right back where you started in your "automatic" process. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE if the data could arrive in a perfect flow without us having to do all the "dirtywork". We could do so much more in terms of visualization. Make no mistake, SOMEONE STILL have to do the SAME work as before. The benefit might be that the CAD-people will start to apreciate the work done by the illustrators and visualization pros.
