color of SGML file entities not an option in Editor 5.4

Adepters,
So far the most irritating thing I have found in version 5.4 is that the
color of SGML file entities is no longer an option. This is actually
written into some of our editing standards and it's a cue to the author
that the colored entities are not editable (usually stored in a
directory where they do not have write permission).
Did anyone find anything major in 5.4?

Just installed it last night. The default directory is now under PTC
instead of Arbortext. It seems to have not recognized my previous license
and required a new key to be generated.

I noticed they moved some of the PE service information on the Preferences
panel up to a separate tab. Nothing major there.

Saw some slides from the presentations at PTC User that indicated there
was supposed to be better integration with Isoview, didn't see any real
details though.

They moved the file entity font color setting to the Advanced Preferences. Click Advanced and look for "fileentityfontcolor".

Dan,

According the the install guide for 5.4, chapter 6, Upgrading Licenses, "There is no need to upgrade your licenses, since previously issued licensing keys for (Arbortext Editor) will continue to work..." Are you saying that you had to go to PTC and request new license keys? That would be extremely bad with a large number of users.

It didn't recognize the license after the install. It creates a new
location under the PTC tree so I don't know if this lead to the
problem. Anyway in the past I always thought the license was
installed on an up grade - I don't remember having this problem in
previous upgrades. I took the "easy" route and just requested the new license.

Hi Dan--

I suspect you're probably right about the new directory structure being
the issue. I haven't tried it, but I think if you copy the *.lic files
from the old Arbortext folder into the new PTC folder, the new version
would pick up those licenses and use them.
