jumping inside the window

jumping inside the window

any time I click in the document to do something, I am transported to some completely different and unrelated part of the document. Some times it is a paragraph or two, some times it is the preceding page. Other times I am towards the end of the document and I am transported to the beginning of the document. When this happens, the mouse may or may not wind up where I clicked.

I thought I saw on how to turn off this "feature", but I did not see it in the archives.

Is it possible that you have a customization in your system that is
listening to the caret_moved callback and doing some processing? That is
the main thing I have seen that will cause the behavior you are seeing.

John, thank you. I may not have explained this well. This is not a customization (or change by us). Fresh installs does this.

The editor when making edits near the bottom adjusts or autoscrolls to the center of the window (to be helpful). You eye is focused on the bottom of the window and make an edit, bam, it moves the scroll bars to have your edits now in the center of the window. After the auto scroll, I find I have to reorient myself. It is a bother. I recall that is was configurable, but my searches do not return anything, because I do not know how to describe it to have good search results.

I'm hoping that you found a solution to the problem. We upgraded to AE 6.1 M060 and since doing so, our users are experiencing a similar issue. The AE edit window jumps when a user tries to insert new content into tables or list items. Moving content by clicking and dragging will also cause the screen to jump. If you did discover the cause or find a solution could you please add it to this post. Thanks KR
