Can this lib work from a Windchill folder defined in the config.pro

How does the intelligent fastener extension work with Windchill and a centralized library?

Also what's the process for making sure each instance has a wtpart associated with it.

Hi David,

no, this is not possible by the config.pro.

But you can upload all your IFX instances to Windchill.

If you assemble a fastener, then IFX first check if your fasteners exist in Windchill or on a search_path location.

If yes, the fastener is loaded from there.

If not, the parts are created on the fly in your working directory or in an archiv folder which you can specify with an optione (PATH_ABS_ARCHIVE).

Since Creo 3.0 M110 and Creo 4.0 F000 it is even possible to store the meta data (fastener instance files and catalog files) in Windchill.

The meta data is updated once per session from windchill.

To make sure, that each instance has a wtpart associated with, you have to create all instances upfront and upload all instance to Windchill.

Then make sure that no template part is available to create the instance on the fly.

If you now assemble a new fastener, your instance are downloaded from Windchill.

Regards,

Oliver
