Center of Gravity

I am trying to find the center of gravity for an assembly.

I can do it OK for individual parts, but not the assembly.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Simon

Center of Gravity

Good Morning all, I have a friend who works at another company that has
pro/e but no maintenance so he ask me a lot of questions from time to time.
Today he asked me a question about how to show center of gravity on a part
and drawing. I have only done this maybe 2 times in almost 18 years of
running pro/e and I don't have a good answer for him.

What is the easiest way to show the center of gravity on a part and drawing?

Well, this may not be the easiest way, but here's how we do it

We created a coordinate system origin, called CG_ASM or something like it,
and offset it from the default assembly cso.
Then we add these relations
$d## =mp_cg_x(","ACS0",")
$d## =mp_cg_y(","ACS0",")
$d## =mp_cg_z(","ACS0",")

Adding in the appropriate dimensions (it's actually part of our
startassembly, so we don't have to do this every time)

Then just show that cso on the drawing.

The best way now takes two steps.

1. create and analysis feature to calculate the massprops.
2. redefine the analysis feature and modify it to create a point entity.

Add a third step, put the analysis feature in the footer so it is always
regenerated last.
