Hardware for render and animate

Hi alls,

I was very suprised today to see how animations or rendering can be longs on an Intel 8600 @ 4500Mhz with 8GB of ram and a quadro fx 1700.
Moving an assembly on the screen under "real time rendering mode" is also smoothness than with the firsts Matrox in 1990.

So, I'm wondering what would be the best improvement at the same price level.
change CPU to Intel i7 - Xeon
quadro 1700 > 4800
amount of ram
hard disk more speedy (???)

I suppose that CPU's frequency is most important that number of Cpu for Pro/E Creo/elts Creo/Params but is it true ?
Is Xeon effectively better than a simple "i7" at same price for this kind of job ?

I thought quadro fx 4800 would be a good improvement but Nvidia Viewspec published results shows that differents are very poor.

So what ?
Rendering performances of 3Dmax or Blender seems to be so much better...

Any advice ?

Thanks,
GB
