I want to copy one assembly in the same folder with most of the parts being reused and one part created as new with new name. I want to copy the associated drawing of this assembly and parts with new name to create a revision. How to do it? I would appreciate any suggestion. I am floating this question in 2 forums as I expect answers from both places.

I don't think that setting the config option RENAME_DRAWING_WITH_OBJECT=BOTH will work for a renamed part saved in the context of doing a 'save as' on an assembly. I think you'll only get the new drawing for the assembly, but not for the part.
If you only need to swap out one part of many, you might be better off making your assy a family table and using an interchange assembly to swap the two different components.
Here's my method for doing what you asked (in 14 easy steps :-D):
1 - Open the assembly drawing 2 - Open the drawing for the part you want to rename 3 - Change the working directory to a new, empty folder 4 - In the assy drawing select File -> Backup. This will save the drawing and ALL the files needed to open it (assy, parts, sub assy's, drawing format ...) in the new folder 5 - In the part drawing select File -> Backup. 6 - Rename the part drawing using File -> Rename 7 - Rename the part using File -> Rename 8 - Save the part drawing. 9 - Rename the assy drawing using File -> Rename 10 - Rename the assy using File -> Rename 11 - Save the assy drawing 12 - Change your working directory to the main database folder (where the assy & drawing originally came from) 13 - In the assy drawing select File -> Backup. 14 - In the part drawing select File -> Backup.
Now you have a new assy that uses all the old parts but the one you renamed.
I am attaching a PDF of a process that will accomplish the same thing . It is a couple of steps more but the isn't any working directory change required. I am not saying it is better just a different method.
