Interchange Assembly Naming Conventions & other best practices in PDMLink?

Does anyone have a suggested naming convention for Interchange assemblies? We are considering using them when a part is used in many assemblies and needs replacing with an item that might be nearly identical, but none of the original feature IDs so, without feature recognition (which would be cool!), Creo needs to be told which reference belongs to which.

But what do you do with the interchange assembly? Do you leave it at in work? Have it go to a released state? Should it get revised when the other component/dwg gets revised and worked on (even if the interchange asm doesn't need to be changed)?

Any other considerations, bugs to be aware of, or suggesions?

Thanks!

Lawrence
