PDF function in jlink

PDF function in jlink

Hi all,
I'm trying to automate the process of Creating PDF's of Drawing files in
WF 2.0.
Is there a Jlink function for creating PDF's . I'm running a session
macro, which seems to be very unstable
with large assembly drawings. It crashes Pro/E.
Thanks,
Arvin

Arvin,

The ability to create PDFs from Jlink or Pro/TOOLKIT for drawings is not
available in WF 2.0. It is available in WF 3.0. I would suggest
researching GhostScript. However that is C only.

Re: PDF function in jlink

Arvin,

As Patrick says, there is no method in J-Link to create a PDF directly.
What you can do is to create a postscript (.ps) file and then let Adobe
Distiller convert the .ps to a .pdf. We have done this both in J-Link
and Pro/TOOLKIT.

RE: PDF function in jlink

Thanks guys for the prompt replies.
I've used the GhostScript and post script method in past, but could never
get the sheet sizes right, for a drawing with multiple sheet sizes in it.

Pro/E wf 2.0 has the functionality to print PDF's if you have adobe
distiller installed on your local computer.
You just make a file>> saveas>> ***.pdf

WF3.0 comes with a version of adobe which will create PDF's.

But i had to print a batch of drawings, so i'm trying to automate it using
Jlink and looking for a specific jlink function.
Thanks,
Arvin
