Parts Added to Simplified Reps

Level 1

Parts Added to Simplified Reps

I have a large assembly with many simplified reps. The reps exclude certain parts of that assembly depending upon the particular rep. I would like to open (or create) a specific rep, add a part to the assembly, but have that added part automatically excluded from all of the other reps.

Any recommendations?

Re: Parts Added to Simplified Reps

I made some rule based Sreps. New parts added to the assembly are put into
the right representation in the particular Srep. Probably to late for you,
but this works fine.

Part Simplified Reps

Is there a way to have ProE open a part simplified rep by default or at least open the "open rep" dialog box by default? In thinking on that also, is there a way to get it to open a combined state by default or once again, at least ask you to do so?

Part Simplified Reps

I meant to tell you that I do have the config options "disp_in_open_rep_create" and "open_simplified_rep_by_default" set and it doesn't do anything.

I have also opened it manually by using the "open rep" selection in the file dialog box but it is not even shown there. You have to select "user defined rep" to see the part simplified rep.

just a thought, you may not have the license you need to use simplified
reps.

I think you need the "advanced assembly" option

I'm not working in an assembly. It works fine there. I am trying to do this at the part level.

Re: Parts Added to Simplified Reps

I have the same question...

I want to Auto Exclude new components from all the existing Simp Reps except for the one I have active.

I heard a rumor that this is possible but I haven't found the details yet.

I don't see the answer in this topic...

Thanks

Re: Parts Added to Simplified Reps

You have options when you create a simplified rep.

1. Set the top assembly to exclude and nothing new is added to the rep unless you add it.

2. Set the top assembly to master and everything you add is in the rep unless you remove them.

Thank you!
