Hello, I was tinkering with Mechanica and created a .mmp and a.mma file. I have found out that these are saved meshes. The problem is that I no longer need them. How can I remove these files. I can not check the part and assembly in because they are now dependent on the .mmp and .mma meshes, and I can not delete the mesh files for the same reason.
Thanks for the responses I received. I was not able to remove the dependency. What I finally did was to backup the suspect model and assembly to the hard drive. I then created a new workspace and checked out the original models. I imported the models from the hard drive then checked them back in. When I updated the original workspace, I was able to delete the .mmp and .mma files.
Note to self. Check in model changes BEFORE doing Mechanica work/analysis.
I'm not sure about this: In MECHANICA, you can try FILE; NEW MECHANICA MODEL. It will delete all Mechanica features, and maybe break the dependency. If not, in the AUTOGEM dialog, you should be able to delete the elements, also breaking the dependency.
In the paste, I have simply checked in the .mmp/.mma files. Something that I have not tried but just thought of is to rerun the analysis, making sure you set the option to not used a saved mesh and just recreate the mesh during the run. Hopefully, this will allow you to delete the .mma/.mmp files.
