-Summary - Can't move items in Assy Tree

Thanks for all the suggestions. The 'Insert here' issue was definitely
because he did not have the features turned on in the tree. But even
after he turned it on, he couldn't move it. He shut down, restarted
and the problem simply went away. As partial IT support I get a lot of
greif about restarts or reboots, but it seems to solve a lot of issues.

Suggestions Included:
From the Model tree settings/filters, from Settings-Tree Filters you
have to check Features for "Insert Here" arrow to be inside the tree..
There could be a lot of reason you cannot move parts in model tree, but
one of them is if the assembly is "Read Only" (the status can be cleared
from "Edit-Read Only- Clean").

Above the Model Tree select Settings>Tree Filters. Make sure the
Features button is checked. Moreover, make sure all the buttons are
checked, but the Features button is what turns on the "Insert Here" bar.

Check the read-only status of the tree.

There was a bug in early builds of WF3 that prevented re-ordering of
items in the tree if there were items in the model tree footer. Not
exactly the same,l but if you are on an early build of WF3 you might
want to move up to something newer if you can to try to fix it.
Another thought is to use the model player in the tools menu to force a
regen on the assy. Roll it back to the beginning, make sure the 'regen
features' box is checked and then roll it to the end.
Restarted Pro|E and reopening the assy is always a good idea when weird
things like this happen.

Make sure that he has his model tree filters set properly:

If he has Features turned off in assembly mode, he will see components,
but the Insert Here arrow does not display:

FYI, I leave all items checked. Also, you can save the model tree
settings (including columns and widths) in a tree.cfg file and then
point to it in your config file with the setting mdl_tree_cfg_file and
then browse to the location.

Thanks,
Mark Steffke
