I modeled a portable test cart that has a boom on it with a couple of pinned joints. A computer sits on the end of the arm and we want to move the cart around the work cell for various product tests. I used PIN joints to simulate the joint flexibility, and I placed the cart assembly in a work area assembly using a planar joint (quick & dirty simulation of the wheeled cart unit moving around the cell). This all works fine when I drag my cart around in the cell, but I would like to simulate dragging the cart to a position in the cell, then locking the wheels so further dragging would only show movement from the two pin joints within the cart assembly - no further motion of the cart unit within the work area.
I attempted to use the 2-Body lock capability, locking the cart assembly and the skeleton for the work area. This locks the cart unit in position, but it also locks the pin joints within the cart unit too. Is there a way I can easiliy lock the cart subassembly in the workcell and still have full motion of the joints within the cart unit? The only way I have found so far is by redefining the assembly constraint of the cart unit to a static position.
