family tables

Newbie

family tables

AHhh my favorite subject.... family tables.

I have an assembly with a subassembly. I would like to hide a component
in the subassembly in one view of my drawing.

Now I found out I can not supress a component in a subassembly in family
tables. OR can I????
I have my top assembly open, go the path of making a family table and
select components. But see there, it won't let me pick any components
from the subassembly.....

If this is not the way to do it, can I do this over my view manager??

Any ideas??

Or do I just not see the trees because of the forest...

Thanks
Christine

RE: family tables

Hi Christine,

The first family table should be in the subassembly.
Then put one in the main assembly.

RE: family tables

Christine,

For what you are trying to do, Family Table might not be the best solution. Have you tried to use Member Display functionality in Drawing (in 2001 - Views > Disp Mode > Member Disp > Blank)?

Or put that component on a layer and blank that layer in a particular view?
