problem solving failures, semi-new to wildfire

Wildfire 2.0 M190 (was on 2001 previously)

Intralink 3.4 M011

I have an assembly which I can verify all instances successfully, then
open an instance and have a part or sub assembly fails. Sometimes I can
just say redefine then accept making not change, and it will resolve
failure, sometimes it won't resolve. So I'm looking at the part, and it
has yellow light. Can someone describe what this means? Sometimes I
can right click on it to get details, sometimes not. So now I'm looking
at a part it has a yellow light, fresh from common space, and not
modified, then I regenerate and light turns green. Am I going to have
to check in this part, with just regeneration so it has a green light?
