Emx Library Components

Emx Library Components

Hi,

I´ve have created some library components and there´s one thing that bothers me. Isn't possible to assemble components freely, without the the predefined assemble constraints? Just like we do on Creo?

I realize that doing that we wont be able to change it using emx since no emx udf´s are created, but that would be useful, in my opinion. Is there any trick to do this?

José

Hello Jose,

if you created library components and you do not add any assembly references...

no assembly references.PNG

.. and you try to assemble a library component, EMX will tell you that there are no references defined...

no assembly references 2.PNG

..Still the dialog appears.

no assembly references 3.PNG

...Now push OK and what happens now is that EMX jumps into the regular assembly process.

no assembly references 4.PNG

Just place your selected library component instances as you want.

no assembly references 5.PNG

NOTE: Be aware that modifying this component is not possible anymore with EMX. This is of course not the recommended way to use EMX and unexpected things can happen.

Best Regards
