Who has already experienced the same, adding a COTS component (Component of the shelf) to your design e.g. downloaded from the manufactures portal and integrating it to your design and having added the mass properties to that object (part / assembly) and searching the assembly for the reason why the mass is so wrong? Or creating a copy of such a COTS and or making geometrical modifications to this object, then trying to get rid of assigned mass properties?
For sure the assigned mass properties can be changed, but to remove them it is really hard and a easy and direct way is missing. Also a search functionality to discover such objects is missing. I came across looking for a faulty part in an assembly, as from the assembly report the mass 100% wrong an I could not find the part easy causing this problem.
So community, what do you think about enhancing the functionality in Creo Elements/Direct Modeling to easy search and filter for objects with "Assigned Mass Properties" and a function to remove "Assigned Mass Properties" from a selected object directly.
Any Feedback by the community is appreciated. What do you all think?
