When creating drawings of models with multiple holes in a radial way (e.g. flanges), a pitch circle diameter has to be created and dimensioned manually.
It would be very useful to add functionality that creates and dimensions the pitch circle diameter automatically.
When the radial pattern changes (pitch circle diameter), this should be updated automatically (associativity).
e.g. option in annotation to calculate and show symmetry or center lines
Based on existing holes, user will be able to define a bold circle. Centrer lines of the circles will be automatically adjusted/oriented to the center of the bold circle. Regular dimensions can be specified (manually). If the location of the holes is changed, the bold circle will be updated automatically - that's the plan
As I mentioned in the first post, it should be possible to have the pitch circle diameter (or radius, by a setting in the settings browser)) automatically dimensioned to avoid repititive work for every circle.
Besides this, it should be incorporated in the radial pattern functionality so if a radial pattern is used, the system automatically adds a pitch circle diameter (optional with center lines for each hole) and adds the circle diameter (or radius).
Kirsten, I got your point. Today we have no concept of auto dimensioning in Annotation/Drafting. So we have not planned automatically creating bold circles and dimensions. We would like the user creates this in formation manually if he needs it. But afterwards keep the bold circle and dimension updated as normal geometry.
So I will reopen the idea again and want to ask the voters to check if their voting is still right or if they have to adjust it to the fact that the manual creation of a bold circle, based on existing holes, with automatically adjusting the centerlines of the circles will be available. When geometry is changed, e.g. additional holes appear on the bold circle or if the diameter is changed, the bold circle, symmetry lines and dimensions are updated automatically when the view or drawing is updated.
