How can I delete a certain segment of a line which is crossing over another line? IE, if I have a circle and a line passing through it, I want to delete one side of the circle with the deletion ending at the line so an arc is created. Thanks!

Split the 2D edge at the intersection, then delete the parts you're not interested in.
