Agile for managing Pro E Data.

Is there someone who use Agile (PDM System)to manage Pro E data directly, as a replecment forIntralink?

someone ever tested this possability?

Rami,

We use Family Tables so unless Agile changes the way they work with those
or we make the decision to move away from family tables, we will not be
using Agile to manage our Pro/E files.

We do use Agile to distribute mostly PDFs of our drawings a few DXFs get
pass and a few word documents as specifications. We also use it to manage
our B.o.M.s and Change Requests & Orders.

I have forwarded a summary from Jim MacIntyre about how people are using
Agile in conjunction with Pro/E.

We are considering alternatives to Intralink also. We looked at a software
package called Design Data Manager. It seemed to work well with ProE and
was very simple.

I looked into DDM a few years ago and my biggest gripe was the fact that you
cannot re-name any part, assembly or drawing from within the DDM software as
you can in Pro/Intralink. To me this is a serious enough flaw that I had to
pass on this program. In order to rename a part from an assembly, you still
need to have the top level assembly(s) and drawing(s) in-session and re-name
from within Pro/E (just like you do now). Bummer.

I guess PTC does not want everyone to have open access to the database for
naming conventions as such.
