Hello
Is there any way to force the common name to be always equal to the name?
I want this two names to be always the same, and to be able to rename my files in Creo, without being worried with the common name.

That's It (:
Thanks!
Hello,
Where does this need to be added, I am new to the Creo / Windchill environment.
Thank you.
Regards,
Thom
Add this in the Relations (Tools Tab), of your 3d model.
Just a word of caution: once something is uploaded to the Windchill server, this trick stops working - at least in our system...
I didn't tried it in Windchill yet.
Have you found some work around to do this in Windchill?
No, it is not possible for this to work with Windchill (after the initial check in). Name (PTC_Common_Name), Number, and Filename and non-versioned attributes, meaning they are common to all versions of an object. The only way to change them after the initial creation is to do a rename from Windchill. Any changes to PTC_Common_Name from Creo will be ignored by Windchill.
Tom,
We are doing the same thing with other parameters. This way we make sure that the Windchill parameters match what is in our CAD files. It also eliminates the possibility for human input error when they copy/paste or retype the information.
