Summary: Hole through to next

Seems the answer is 'Yes, it does work, but the preview doesn't.'
So if you ignore the fact it looks as if it doesn't work, then ('usually')
it does.

Don't you just love it?

Have a good weekend.

As you can see from the pictures, the hole extends an arbitrary amount
through the next three surfaces as far as I can see.

Any suggestions?

There seems to be quite a lot of areas where "preview" doesn't give you
what you're going to get. Rounds are a lottery and the preview gives you
no idea whether it'll be a go or no go situation. Preview is about as
useful as an ashtray on a motor bike.

Well, the full preview always works as expected and I still like the
dynamic preview since it has the handles.

And, I saw a guy on a Harley smoking a cigarette while cruising a main
street in northern San Diego a couple of weeks ago. I would love to see
an ashtray on his bike so he doesn't just toss it and start a fire.

Original Question:

Is it me, or does the option to make a hole 'up to the next surface' just
not work?

Answer:

Seems it was me a bit...
I made the mistake of believing what I saw during the preview. That is the
bit that doesn't work. When you ignore the preview and click the tick it
makes a hole through to the next surface, just as I wanted.

I expect it will be fixed one day.
