Original Question:
Does anyone have a mapkey (for WF2) to force the layer/model tree
navigator open? Everything I try, acts as a toggle.
Summary:
Doesn't look like anyone has solved this directly (or it's not even
possible), but the work around mentioned below is clever and will solve my
problem.

I've probably put a good two days' work into this, and my final answer is
that such a thing does not exist. You'll have to wait until WF3.0 when we
get our separate layer UI back.
The solution I found to manipulating layers (if that's what you're doing)
is that I repeat the mapkey sequence twice because of the toggle. It's
stupid and crappy but works.
