Swept cut trajectory extend

I am trying to extend the trajectory of a swept cut. All attempts yield an "invalid trajectory". Non-extended trajectory works fine. Trajectory curve is simply a projected arc. Is there a known issue with extending projected curves? Something else I am missing?
