Apparently, there are major issues with the new Creo 4.0 ASME Symbol font. If you export it as a dxf, dwg or pdf with the setting to NOT be stroked, it does not export well. In dxf and dwg, if you double click the text, the symbols convert to boxes. In PDF, they just show as boxes. Please fix ASAP!

We fixed this problem in Creo 4 by setting symbol_font to legacy.

That doesn't really fix the original problem, it just avoids it. That is what we do as well.
