Add a data tool that would help to simplify using common drawing notes

It would be great to have a tool that would easily allow users to store and categorize common drawing notes that are used.  At my company we probably have 30 or 40 common notes that are used.  It would be nice to have a tool that would allow the user to categorize those notes and easily insert them into a note used on a drawing.

Oh yeah, why don't you add a always active spelling checker.  Wow, look at this, Word has one, so does Excel.  Hmm, I wonder if somehow Pro E, Wildfire, Creo, or what ever you want to call it, can use this spell checker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Sounds like it crazy enough that it might just work. 🙂

We would like to have this tool not only for simple drawing notes but also for more complex "drawing notes" that consist of text, special characters, symbols, tables  ...

Today we have a horrifying mix of notes, symbols and tables developed historically in our library.

(Because it was only possible to store notes consisting of simple text with default text height
we often had to use symbols for storing "drawing notes".)

If a user wants to create a "drawing note" he always needs to know:

Where can I find it? Is it a note?  Is it a symbol? is it a table?

This is not the way a user should think.

Multi language support should be included.

Yes!  This has been needed since the beginning of Pro/E time.

There is:

  • note from file (text only)
  • symbol from palette (symbols, special characters, text, graphigs)
  • table_dir (from Creo 2.0, but no preview)

Now an enhancement where you could include tables (with repeat region support) as part of symbol and rehaul of symbol definiton interface would give you tools for the job. Classification can be done with symbol from palette functionality.
