Add a proper way to add all kinds of centerlines in the 2D drawing environment with sketch tools.

Add a proper way to add all kinds of centerlines in the 2D drawing environment with sketch tools.

1. Describe your environment: What is your industry? What is your role in your organization? Describe your stakeholders.
All industries

2. What version of Creo Parametric are you currently running?
Creo Parametric 8.0 and 9.0

3. Describe the problem you are trying to solve. Please include detailed documentation such as screenshots, images or video.

Add a proper way to add all kinds of centerlines in the 2D drawing environment with sketch tools rather than using the 3D model annotations.

Since the proper (Creo Parametric) way to add centerlines or -marks on a 2D drawing is to use the 3D model annotations, a huge base of Creo users (especially designers who have worked with other CAD systems) get really frustrated (check the forums!) by the lack of being able to add or create their own centerline annotations on a 2D drawing. OR (and I find this one more important) the lack of simple add-ons in 2D to show centerlines more specific; Slot centerlines, connecting centerlines which are on the same line, symmetry centerline, etc.

PTC has put a lot of effort in & added a very nice enhancement in Creo 9.0 concerning Section Views and the hatch styles and properties as well as Surface finish annotations. I really hope they are going to continue on this same path and (hopefully) add a lot of stuff like this in a next version of Creo Parametric... like for example this Centerlines issue which frustrates a lot of Creo users...

4. What is the use case for your organization?
Flexibility in creating 2D drawings

5. What business value would your suggestion represent for your organization?
More flexibility and time saving for the users, for PTC a lot of happy users
