Add the option to always have the dialog box for an operation open, rather than the little green triangle.

Add the option to always have the dialog box for an operation open, rather than the little green triangle.

A few versions ago the little green triangle "play" button was added to the UI. The addition of the triangle adds many clicks to my day, as well as having to redo many operations because nothing was reminding me to switch an option. I don't believe the green triangle benefits me in any way, but often frustrates me.

For instance creating a copy of a part, but wanting to use Mate Align to position. Preselect a part, right click, Copy, click on the green triangle, mate align...

For instance align a face with offset. Preselect a face, click align in the mini-tool, click the Ref Face, click on the green triangle, enter an offset.

For instance position a part using Mate Align. Preselect a part, click Position in the mini-tool, click on the green triangle, click Mate Align...

For instance pull with draft. Preselect a face, select pull face from mini-tool, click on the green triangle, add Draft Angle...

For instance creating a copy of a part, but not immediately realizing I'll want to change the owner. Preselect a part, click Copy in mini-tool, move the part using the 3D CoPilot, forget to click on the green triangle to change owner since there's no visual reminder, middle click, notice the part isn't in the assy I'd like, scroll through the browser to move it to where I'd like.

Hi Greg,
I think I have something for you.

Had the same problem until I found the following.

The commands to enable or disable the automatic opening of the command dialog boxes exist:

- Activate: (setq ui::*ui-on-request-enabled* nil)

- Disable(setq ui::*ui-on-request-enabled* t)

· These switches can be entered in the command line or be included in a file, for example. sd_customize.

Support saysCaution, the switch will not work on every menu!   (***)
As you drag, for example not. But when rounding or chamfering.

(***) I'm using it in v18.1 and v19, and so far I have not found a menu that did not open.

For me, I have made two command buttons with which I can freely switch on or off.

But for me the switch is always turned in on position.

Enjoy it

Another option that I found is a setting in the UI Settings menu. If you change "Show OK and Cancel buttons" to "None", then the dialog will appear when you select a command from a mini-Toolbar.ui_settings.JPG

This will not cause the dialog to appear if you start immediately interacting with the default command (like if you select a face and then start dragging the face to move it, but it will work if you select the Move 3D icon from the mini-Toolbar).

This works because the UI needs you to have access to the OK and Cancel icons, and if they aren't in the viewport or on the option mini-Toolbar, then it brings up the dialog so that you have access to them. If you have started interacting with a default command, you will need to use another method of accessing OK and Cancel (middle mouse button and ESC key, or add those to the Quick Access toolbar).
