I put in a request several years ago to be able to perform buckling analysis for pressurized structures since that capability is THE critical analysis type for rocket structures. This new "product idea" is just a smarter explanation of that year's old request. I now understand that the way that NASTRAN (and presumeably other codes) accomplish this kind of analysis is by using a Pre-stress analysis. Fundamentally, a user inputs all of the pressure loads and runs a pre-stress analysis that "determines the effective stiffness matrix" for the structure when it is stiffened using pressure. Then, subsequent to that, the user runs a standard buckling analysis that uses the stiffeness matrix from that pre-stress analysis.
Currently Creo only offers Prestress static and prestress modal. My industry badly needs prestress buckling.
