As PTC keeps making improvements to Modelcheck, I see more companies wanting to ModelCheck and Gatekeeper. However, as of Windchill 11 M030 and Creo 4 M040, ModelCheck and Windchill Gatekeeper are out of sync. Gatekeeper requires that objects (PRT, ASM, and DRW) be checked within a specified time window - example: must be checked by ModelCheck within the last 5 days. In Creo ModelCheck, there's no way to match this moving time requirement in the condition.mcc file as to recheck a model to prevent unneeded local modifications to files. There almost needs to be a way to specify IF (MC_VERIFIED EQ YES) AND (MODEL_CHECK LTE 5DAYS) NOCHECK. Adding the ability to specify a time window (in days or hours) would allow this to work much better with Gatekeeper. Also, adding the ability to exempt for NEW, LOCALLY_MODIFIED, or CHECKED_OUT may allow admins even more flexibility in exempting objects as well. Another small change to Gatekeeper that could help is the ability to specify the time window in days or hours instead of the current hours only... users don't appreciate being told they cannot check in their model(s) because they 'haven't been checked in 120 hours'. A much better message would 'model(s) haven't been checked in the required 5 days' or whatever units the Gatekeeper time window was specified in.
