Importing an ECAD board creates hundreds of unneccessary layers. We would like to be able to turn that aspect off ASAP. Importing 3D data from our IDEAS legacy system results in layers with names like colors etc. We don't want those layers brought in either. Making a Cross Section and a datum on the fly results in a XSEC_DATUMS layer being added, we don't want that either. Making a drawing using a template of a part that has annotations on it seems to produce a drawing level layer called ANNOTATIONS also, we don't want that either.
