Allow Feature Name Editing From Notepad or Excel

Allow Feature Name Editing From Notepad or Excel

At the moment, one can quickly and easily input a multitude of Datum Points into Creo by copying them from a text editor of choice and pasting them into an automatically generated Notepad file. Specifically, this is done by going to the "Model" tab, selecting the dropdown menu for "Point", choosing "Offset Coordinate System", clicking an initial coordinate system, entering an initial point, then clicking "Update Values" at the bottom of the dialog box. This generates a Notepad file to input desired data.

However; one does not have the option of entering the point names when inputting point coordinates. To change the name, one must close out the text file and manually change the name for each row of data.

The inability to do this in the "Offset Coordinate System" feature seems like an oversight, considering that one is able to do just this in other features; for example, the Family Table feature (via Excel).

This is a super basic ask and should be addressed by PTC sooner rather than later.  It gives the impression that they updated the UI at some point and didn't finish the job.  They could maintain backwards compatibility with the .pts files with no name but add a new format like csv or a just allow a 4 column version that supports the name.  It's a huge waste of time having to retype all the names if a new import changes the order or adds/removes points.
