When detailing assemblies, bulk items are often used for thread lock, lubrication, tape, etc. We also use bulk items for fabric, thread, foam chemicals, etc.
Many times I need a balloon for a bulk item in several places. A fabric cover will have an assembly to represent it in models with bulk items used to populate the BOM table. The drawing will have a pattern on it were each panel needs to have a balloon to indicate what material it is made of. Currently I have to use balloon notes that are not parametric and do not update with changes to the BOM table.
