Allow an Annotation to be related to another annotation/weldnote.

Allow an Annotation to be related to another annotation/weldnote.

Please allow the possibility of relating a free floating annotation to be related to another annotation/weldnote.

WELDNOTE2.jpg

Such as the words "EACH TUBE" to be related to the weld note so that when you move the note around the text will follow it.

Thanks, Dale

I could see this as very useful for relating a quantity callout to a balloon as well.

Or relating symbols to drawing notes:

Good recommendations also. I would like to use the 2X one.

For the balloon one, i'd like to see if that could be represented with a custom bom balloon. But the point is valid, in general terms there seem to be too many restictions surrounding what can be grouped to what.

So the only was to add the 2X is a separate annotation and relate it to the view. If the balloon placement stays the same, they will stay relative to each other, but if the balloon moves, the 2X will be left out in space somewhere. Correct?

Or in the case below, the boxed 2 would be?related_annotations.jpg

Yep.  I think the "preferred" convention for quantity callout is a split circle with the find number on top and the number of places used below.  I have not run into a client in 20 years that does that though.

A simple solution to this is to allow use to create a note with shapes similar to the "@[x@]" for various shapes around the encompassed text.  Maybe "@(x@)" would be a circle and "@{x@}" would be a hex.

We should still want access to the balloon's intelligence, just give us the option to format and edit the text string would suffice.
