I'm asking for this functionality after having to re-do the entire drawing from scratch.
Here's the scenario:
You get to work on an existing drawing that contains fully-dimensioned views. The views display the Master representation of a part.
You want to copy this drawing and use it as a template for a drawing of a simplified variant of this part. Simple, right? Just add a simplified rep to the model, make a copy of the drawing, open it and swap out the Master rep for the new simplified rep of the model... Erase or add the few dimensions that make up the the difference between the representations...
Well, as if Creo 2.0 M100, you can't do this without erasing the views using the Master rep and starting from the drawing from scratch with the representation set to the new simplified rep.
Perhaps PTC wants us to use family tables for this situation, but why then allow simplified reps other than the Master on part drawings?
Apparently, this has been asked for before: http://communities.ptc.com/ideas/1719) (broken link?)
Allow to set individual simplified reps for parent and child views in Creo Parametric
Thanks!
