PTC is reducing the functionality of Creo Parametric in the name of "meet(ing) dimensioning standards". One example of this is the removal of the user's ability to rotate ordinate dimensions. However, they are ignoring the fact that a lot of "drawings" that are created are never intended to meet dimensioning standards. Layouts, flat patterns, templates and most importantly presentations.
It would be great if PTC would allow both a standards locked mode and a free mode in order to facilitate all uses of the drawing module.
I opened a case with tech support and the tech went the extra mile and submitted an SPR for an enhancement to add a config.pro option to enable this. Maybe we'll see it in Creo 4.
PTC, allow designers to use Creo the way they need to, not just the way you prescribe.
