Currently, by default, the model's geometry matches the nominal dimensions. For example, if you have a feature defined at 30 deg +5/-0 deg, the model will locate the feature at 30 deg. However, the median location of that feature would be 32.5 deg. There is currently no option to generate the model at the median dimension by default.
Using the tolerance analysis tool "Dimension Boundaries", you can force regenerate the model to the middle, upper, or lower dimensions, however, this only applies to features that have already been created.
The request is that we have the option to set the default model generation to either upper, lower, middle, or nominal. This is very important for model based definition when the model is being used to directly drive NC processes. Often designers wish to convey design intent through the use of unilateral or unequal bilateral tolerancing, however, the model should still reflect the median dimension so that the manufacturer's are targeting the median rather than the extremes.
