Allow to blank the exterior border lines of table

Allow to blank the exterior border lines of table

Sometimes we need blank the border lines of table, but for current functionality Line Display only can blank the internal lines of table, cannot blank the exterior border lines

I agree 100%.  There have been times I would like to blank the exterior lines and I can't.  I don't know if it still works, but there was a trick to forcing this to happen.  Although, if you change the data in a cell after you done this it would not work.  You create a table with and extra row on the top and bottom, and an extra column on the left and right.  You then blank the lines that are internal to the table.  After all this is done delete the extra rows and columns on the exterior of the table, and the previously internal blanked lines rename blanked.  The problem I ran into is if I edited one of these external cells the external lines would show up again.

This is a great idea! It gives us improved functionality (improved to what it should always have been), but, at least superficially, looks like a relatively trivial change to the software.

Vote it up, folks!

Agreed!  Also full manipulation of the line width and style of the table/cell lines would also be a plus!

[E.g. Width (boldness) of line, color, line style, etc]

hello, I created a similar idea but concerning all lines of a table: see idea 4288.
Thanks

Do you have a link to the idea?

I've wished for a direct way to do this also.  My workaround is to change the table's line style color to "highlight - edge" and then print using a pen table that assigns the "highlight - edge" color to print as white.

This would make general notes so much better/easier

NON PRINTABLE LINE STYLE: LIKE SNAP LINES

Is a duplicate of this idea and has been marked as such.

Ok, but is it being considered?  It is unbelievable how so many of these product ideas have been posted and there hasn't been a useful response from PTC regarding their intention...

In my opinion this idea is important, because of a restriction in drawing formats:

"You must include all user-defined model and drawing parameters in format table cells in the form of ..."
