Allow to combine uppercase and lowercase characters in a material name

Allow to combine uppercase and lowercase characters in a material name

For current functionality, including &ptc_material_name in drawing note always displays as uppercase complex and cannot display combine uppercase and lowercase complex in a material name. For most mechanical standard, should like Steel instead of STEEL.

Workaround from https://www.ptc.com/appserver/cs/view/solution.jsp?n=CS110551 is too complex

How about using 3rd party parameter editor for creo?

You would get material names, physical properties, dictionary, conditional selections, possible material items, ability to change standard, hardness, condition, surface treatments etc as you want them to appear on your model.

The PTC workaround MATERIAL=material_param("PTC_MATERIAL_DESCRIPTION") is unusable into a StartPart because to be validated the StartPart need to have an assigned material...

For people who don't use StartPart its usable but this is a limitation of using Creo.

The only relation that works fine into a StartPart is : MATERIAL=PTC_MATERIAL_NAME but PCT MUST not have to alway use upercase for value of PTC_MATERIAL_NAME.

It look like to be simple to go into that way to solve these issue.

Would an option be to assign a dummy material to your start parts and give that material a name like "No Material Assigned"?  I would give it a black hole density so that even a tiny part would be absurdly heavy, making it stand out in mass properties analyses.

We don't use material files, but we do have our start parts set with a ridiculous density so that their mass stands out if it hasn't been properly assigned.
