An assembly flexing a part AND using it's simplified rep - not supported!

An assembly flexing a part AND using it's simplified rep - not supported!

We have a part for a shipping envelope. Within the part, we made a simplified rep showing the envelope tab opened (it suppressed a few features). We also include a predefined flex that allows for the bag to 'stretch' based on dimensions of the content which is specified at the assembly level. An engineer wanted a drawing view of the envelope flexed (with items inside), but using the simplified rep of the part to show that the envelope shouldn't be sealed. When the user created a simplified rep in the assembly using the simp rep of the part, the flex was gone. Support says that flexibility is not supported for simplified reps! Please change this. The only other option is to use family tables, which is very much not popular in our organization.

Thanks!

You may be able to use flexibility to do all of it.  You can use the Features tab, in the Varied Items dialog box, to suppress and resume features and flex dimensions at the same time.

It isn't great either, because if you try to flex a group, if wants you to ungroup if when you suppress it in the flex menu. But that should work better. Thanks!
