Angle measurement default to Supplement

Angle measurement default to Supplement

When using the Measure:Angle tool and selecting two surfaces, the angle reported is based off the normals to the surfaces selected. The drop-down list allows the user to change between Main and Supplement, but it would be great if there was a config.pro option to allow the user to select Supplement as the default. Most of the time, in my experience, users are interested in the angle between the selected surfaces, not the angle between the normals.

Also, it would be very useful to have the same display of Creo View for the angle measure. In Creo View the angle displayed is the supplement one by default and it is more graphically understandable.

I absolutely second this. While this option is not yet present in Creo Parametric, an easy workaround is to create a mapkey, which automatically chooses supplement angle:

mapkey an ~ Command `ProCmdNaMeasureAngle` ;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Activate `nmd_1` `nmd_ang_bar` `1 nmd_angle`;\
mapkey(continued) ~ Activate `nmd_1` `1 nmd_angle`;~ Activate `nmd_1`;

This way you can type "an" and go on with your measurements.

I second this request.

Let us notice that PTC has allready done such an intervention with the Midplane feature, correcting the default/first placement method from Creo 4 in Creo 6 (I guess).

Indeed it would be perfect if the symbol would represent the angle measured.

A customer I'm working with indicates that small draft angles of 1-3° are sometimes confusing , as the default measured angle would give the impression of 88° instead of 92°, indicating the draft angle is placed in the wrong direction (while the correct  angle could be measured with the conjugated angle, 1 additional click away).
