Dear PTC,

please provide us appearance color maps for very well known color space systems!

For example:

Customers often order their machines in colors, defined in one of above systems (at least our customers).

Pantone colors cannot be provided.

From the Wikipage on Pantone.

Pantone asserts that their lists of color numbers and pigment values are the intellectual property of Pantone and free use of the list is not allowed.[32] This is frequently held as a reason Pantone colors cannot be supported in open-source software and are not often found in low-cost proprietary software.[33] Pantone has been accused of "being intentionally unclear" about its exact legal claims, but it is acknowledged that "the simplest claim would be trademark misappropriation or dilution towards someone who produced a color palette marketed as compatible with Pantone's.

The appearance.dmt file that is provided comes with a wide range of colors. If you need a custom color, create it.

Status changed to: No Plans to Implement

PTC currently has no plans to support additional color maps, such as RAL or Pantone at this time.  Users can easily create their own Creo color palette using the color editor and defining the RGB and/or HSV values for each color.  Using conversion tools available on the web, users can find the specific RGB code for a given Pantone color and define a represented palette in Creo.

PTC continues to monitor this area and can consider such an enhancement in the future.

How about improving the performance of Creo Parametric while loading larger color maps? Some performance issues have occured while loading large colormaps during startup.
