Currently when an Appearance is applied to a solid model, only existing geometry is referenced. This means that of the model changes to create new surfaces, the Appearance will not apply to them. One example this is critical for is color variants in a Family Table, and as a result, if changes are made, they could require each color variant to be manually modified. If Appearances catered for geometric changes that create new surfaces, these extra manual steps would not be required.
